Health professional students also get clinical experience at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center and the Methodist Rehabilitation Center, which adjoin the UMC campus, and in community hospitals throughout the state.
The Medical Center is the anchor tenant in the Jackson Medical Mall Thad Cochran Center, occupying nearly half of the mall’s space. More than 100,000 Mississippians are seen in the hospital's primary and specialty clinics, which are located there. The hospital's renal care clinic is located at the mall, and work on a comprehensive cancer center is underway as well.
The University Hospitals and Clinics-Holmes County includes a 60-bed nursing home in Durant and an 84-bed hospital in Lexington. By contract, UHC provides all health care services for the state's Department of Corrections. | |
